2016 OnStage Swaps

Hi all!

It's finally arrived... Stampin' Up OnStage! Tomorrow I will be at the Hilton Hotel Sydney with a stack of other demos and SU staff. It's a time where I get to meet up with fellow demos from around Australia and share creative ideas and also participate in some training. We also get a sneak peek at upcoming catalogues and products (which is so exciting).

Each year I create "swaps" to exchange with other demos. In return I get all different ideas. Swapping is one of my favourite things to do as I get to meet and catch up with others and bring home so many new ideas and creations. Stay tuned for a blog post soon showing my swaps I get in return!

Mini hand cream holders
These are super simple to create. Start with a piece of cardstock (I used 2014-2016 In Colors) measuring 8 ¼ inches x 2 inches and fold in half at 4 ⅛ inch mark. Next, use the Scallop Tag Topper Punch on either end. I then used matching ink to stamp a couple of images from Flowering Flourishes on each side. I slotted the mini hand cream in and secured at the bottom with a staple using our Mini Stapler. Finally, I tied both ends together with a bow using Cotton Ribbon (I used Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, and Daffodil Delight).

I love a good production line
I can't wait to tell you more about OnStage, but we are sworn to secrecy until Tuesday 19th April! Stay tuned for exciting new info coming soon.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Easter Cards & Basket

Hi there!

Unfortunately I do not own any Easter stamps, apart from sentiments found in some stamp sets. I love Easter projects and found some great inspiration on YouTube.

This card on the right was CASE'd from US demo Tami White. While I had the Work of Art stamp set out I thought the chevron patterned image would look great on an Easter egg too. I jumped on Periscope to create the card on the left. Here's the link: https://ktch.tv/8tBW

These 2 cuties were inspired by fellow AU demo Libby Dyson. I loved her concept of the bunny popping out of the rabbit hole. I had to create one in Pink Pirouette and one in Soft Sky. This punch art bunny is way too cute!!!

The final project is this fabulous Easter basket. I love Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron together - such a great combination. I just had to use the chick from Honeycomb Happiness (a Sale-a-bration freebie) together with the Honeycomb Embellies for the tag. I found the tutorial here: http://youtu.be/5pRSioWtBMI

Thanks for stopping in. Until next time, happy stampin'!

Christmas Bags & Boxes

Hi everyone!

On Friday night I helped Miriam with her final workshop of the year. It was all about Christmas, so we made pillow boxes, favour bags and a larger tote. We had our break up party with lots of yummy goodies for supper and Santa even filled our Favour Box with some special treats!

Miriam demonstrated how to make her version of the ribbon flower (attached to the Favour Box) and also her 'Mirianthium' (attached to the Pillow Box) and I demonstrated the Tote. It's similar to my tote here, but in 12x12 form. There's also a sneak peak from the new Summer Mini (yet to be released) on the Favour Box!! ;)

I'll miss getting together with the girls every month at Workshop, but we've devised a plan... webcams and Workshop Webinars!! I'll gather all my supplies at home in Sydney and hook up via web link every Friday night!! WOO HOO!!

Thanks for stopping in and happy stampin'!

Stampin' Up! Melbourne Regionals 2011

Hi everyone!

Sorry it's been a while since my last post. We are currently relocating from Point Lonsdale VIC to Wattle Grove NSW (Sydney), so my life has been about packing, packing and more packing! It all happens on 1 Dec 2011 and we should be settled in Sydney around 10 Dec 2011.

I just got back from Melbourne Stampin' Up! Regionals and boy was I inspired! I learnt so much and was inspired in so many ways. I got to meet a few of my "scrapping idols" and was a little star struck. First is the lovely Claire Daly whom I've been following since around 2006, next is Simone Bartrum whom I've been following since around 2008, and last, but certainly not least, is Sue Madex whom I've been following since around 2008 too! Their work is amazing and I think all three ladies are fab! I even got a hug off Claire and Simone and got to swap with Simone -- my very own creation by THE Simone Bartrum!!! Sooooo happy!!!

The presentations were fantastic and there were lots of ideas I picked up and can't wait to try! We had 3 make and takes which I will post at a later date. We also got a lot of freebies! We got a free stamp set just for attending, a free Vanilla Smooch Spritz because we reached capacity in numbers, and free Champagne Glass Glitter just because they love giving away freebies!!

Sophie (the training coordinator for Stampin' Up in Sydney) is fantastic!!! I'm not exaggerating! She presented on the big shot, fabric, how to be a great 1950's housewife (hilarious!), and a simple ribbon rose - NO SEWING! She even made her skirt out of the Stampin' Up! Candy Cane Designer Fabric. Here she is in her full circle skirt:

And here's my favourite project she made using Fabric and the Favour Box die:

There were 5 WOW's by fellow demo's Kathryn Ruddick, Janine Rawlins, Tracey Penn, Miriam Spiess and Brenda Fry.

I was very happy to learn a couple months ago, my dear friend Miriam Spiess would be doing a Workshop WOW at Regionals this year. Miriam made a gorgeous shadowbox for a friend of ours after the passing of her father and, via the wonderful world of Pintrest, it landed on Sophie's desk! She's been busy creating flowers, cards, LO's, arrangements and OTP's to present. Her signature flower is gorgeous, which I named MIRIANTHIUM! Click here to pop on over to her blog and see her stunning creations!! She's even made orchids, gerberas, leaves and ribbon flowers! Here's a sneak peak:

...and here's Miriam with her 'Ode to Cherry Cobbler' (I pinched this from Claire's blog):
Oh Cherry Cobbler
How I love thee
If Stampin' Up! ever retire you
They shall retire me

Another WOW which I loved, was all about the Petal Cone Big Shot die. Kathryn Ruddick blew me away with her gorgeous boxes! She sure can embellish!! Click here to pop on over to her blog to see these gorgeous treat boxes!! Here's a sneak peak:

I will post my swaps in a seperate post, so keep an eye out for that. Until next time...

Happy stampin'!

OTP - Treat for Mum

Hi everyone!

Next week marks the first anniversary of my beautiful Nans' passing - 20 October 2010. I thought my Mum would need cheering up, so I decided to send her a little treat. Nan and Mum shared the love of all things ginger. They would eat it by the bucket load, and when I saw ginger shortbread, I knew this was the perfect little 'cheery treat' for Mum. I've also been making magnets for Mum over the years with little sayings and messages on the back. The tag on the front actually doubles as a magnet! It comes off the wrapping and has a special little message on the back for Mum.

Ribbon/Twine: Hemp twine
Other: Platinum Shimmer Paint (mixed with Isocol to make Shimmer Spray)
Tools: Crop-a-dile
