Creative Elements

Hi everyone!

I am patiently awaiting the arrival of this stamp set, but got the chance to use it while I was at my "mini retreat/PJ party" this weekend. I hope you like these cards as much as I do!

This card has quite a few techniques on it including ribbon scrunching, punch art and creating flowers. I love the way they all tie in together.
Card Recipe:
Stamp: Creative Elements
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Punches: Scallop Circle, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Modern Label
Tools: Crimper
Big Shot: Blossom Party Originals Die, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder
Embellishments: Basic Pearls
Ribbon: Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding
Other: Shimmer Paint

For this card I've used the rock n roll technique to give the butterfly a gorgeous effect.
Card Recipe:
Stamp: Creative Elements
Cardstock: Old Olive, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso, Marina Mist
Punch: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
Tools: Crimper

...and last, and most certainly least. I just couldn't get this card right. According to the colour coach, these are complimentary colours, but I had to go back over the Pretty in Pink and stamp with Chocolate Chip! The flower pots are made from the Round Tab Punch and are quite cute, but all in all, not happy with this one.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Creative Elements, Pocket Silhouettes
Cardstock: Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Paper: DSP Paper Stack (retired)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive
Punch: Round Tab
Big Shot: Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Thanks for stopping by and happy stampin'!

Elements of Style and Bleaching Technique

Hi everyone!

Just popping in to show you a great technique I've been wanting to try out for a while, bleaching. I've seen it done over the years, but never actually tried it.

This is my first attempt and you can see the mistake towards the top where I was a little too heavy handed with the bleach. I then went back with my ink to try and blend it in, but it didn't work. Still, I'm happy with this card and how easy it was to create a great effect!

Card Recipe:
Stamp: Element of Style
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla
Ink: Versamark, Wisteria Wonder
Punches: Scallop Trim Border
Ribbon: Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Platinum Shimmer Paint

Thanks for stopping by and happy stampin'!

Crushing on Concord Crush?

Hi everyone!

Well, my starter kit has arrived and I dove straight in and started creating!!

I am a huge purple fan, and I mean MASSIVE! I even owned a purple ute back in my younger days :) Everything seems to be purple around me and I try so hard not to make every card in several shades of it! I was very excited when I heard about the 2010-2012 In Colour Concord Crush. But when I saw it, boy was I disappointed. It has taken me a year to finally pick it up and create with it!

This card is just gorgeous! I love how the white looks against the deep colour! I kept it pretty simple and I am very pleased with the results.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock: Concord Crush, Whisper White
Paper: In Colour 2011-2013 Patterns DSP Stack
Ink: Concord Crush
Punches: Modern Label, Word Window, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
Ribbon: Whisper White 5/8" Satin

Am I crushing on Concord Crush? I am now!!

2010-2012 In Colours

Hi everyone!

I've been playing with the current In Colours and 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set lately and came up with two cards to share with you.

The first card I used my Peach Parfait marker to colour the white taffeta ribbon and then ruffled it... I think this really makes the card!

Stamp: Vintage Vogue
Cardstock: Peach Parfait, Whisper White
Paper: In Colour 2010-2012 Patterns DSP Stack
Ink: Peach Parfait, Chocolate Chip

The second card uses a technique called faux silk, which I used on the flower.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Vintage Vogue
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Paper: In Colour 2010-2012 Patterns DSP Stack
Ink: Blushing Bride, Early Espresso
Ribbon: Whisper White 5/8" Satin

Melon Mambo Addiction...

Hi everyone!
I have a confession to make. I recently discovered I have a serious Melon Mambo fetish. I seem to be using it on just about every project. In a way I'm glad, as this has helped me get over my issue with the colour pink.
Here I've used a technique called 'faux tearing' to create a great effect!

Card Recipe
Stamps: Punch Potpourri (retired hostess), Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo
Punches: Modern Label
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones

For this card I've concertinaed the ribbon so only the Melon Mambo pattern is showing.

Card Recipe
Stamps: So Swirly Jumbo Wheel (retired), Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo
Punches: Modern Label, Word Window
Ribbon and Button: Ice-cream Parlour (July 2011 Promotion)

Happy stamping!
